Lowe's to add around 275 jobs in Wilkesboro

(MOORESVILLE) -- North Carolina based home improvement retailer Lowe’s will adding more than 275 jobs during 2011 at its Customer Support Center in Wilkesboro. Plans call for the new employees to assist customers with questions related to online purchases, or with requests for service on products such as appliances and outdoor power equipment.

“It takes great people to provide our customers with outstanding service, whether they visit one of our stores, shop our website or contact us,” said Maureen K. Ausura, Lowe’s executive vice president of human resources. “The addition of new jobs ensures customers contacting Lowe’s will receive speedy service from knowledgeable and well-trained associates.”

The Wilkesboro center has grown from approximately 350 employees in January 2010 to its current employment of more than 700 people. The 275 jobs announced on Tuesday will bring the total Contact Center employment to more than 975 by the end of this year.
