(RALEIGH) -- Businesses or individuals in search of a possible good deal on heavy equipment need not look any further than the State Surplus Property Agency. The agency is preparing to take bids for a fleet of heavy equipment used only for educational purposes in a program no longer offered at Wilson Community College.

“The equipment will be sold on the State Surplus Sealed Bid site and on eBay from August through October,” said State Surplus Property Officer Robert Riddle. “It’s a shame the college had to shut down its program, but this creates a great opportunity for people who need this kind of equipment to buy it a discount.”

All of the equipment is listed for review at http://www.doa.nc.gov/ssp/heavyequipment.htm.  Items will be posted soon on eBay under the ID: ncssp. The equipment can also be inspected in person at the State Surplus Property Warehouse, 6501 Chapel Hill Road in Raleigh.

Riddle said that all equipment is operational and was well maintained, since learning how to service the items was a key part of the community college curriculum.
