(RALEIGH) -- Small business owners are bracing for a five hundred dollar per employee tax that kicks in next year. The tax on health insurance is intended to raise billions of dollars to help pay for Obama Care.

Sheila Ogle owns the Matthews House in Cary, and would owe three-thousand dollars. She says the tax will affect her decision-making.

"It is going to mean that maybe there is a piece of equipment that I won't to be able  buy because I need to pay another $3000 to the government to take care of this tax."

Ogle is part of a group that is encouraging business owners to ask their congressmen to repeal the tax.
