Pinehurst Course No. 2, site of the 2014 Men's and Women's U.S. Open, has been selected by the United States Golf Association as the site of the 2024 Open Championship.
Rumors that Pinehurst would again host the Open Championship made the rounds, last week, after the Pinehurst Village Council unanimously approved an agreement with the U.S. Golf Association for the use of village property to stage the championship. The USGA would not comment following the July 14th vote, saying only that no official site announcements for the Open have been made beyond 2021. Fast forward one week and speculation was confirmed, as the USGA formally announced the Open will return to Pinehurst No. 2 in 2024. Pinehurst No. 2 was the site of the Open Championship in 1999, 2005 and both the Men's and Women's open Championship in 2014.
