ROANOKE, VA -- Advance Auto Parts Inc. plans to cut 100 corporate jobs, 50 in Roanoke, VA and 50 more in Raleigh, NC by the end of August.

The Roanoke Times reports that Advance Auto Inc. spokeswoman Laurie Stacy said Monday that corporate executives needed to cut jobs to blend the 2014 purchase of General Parts International, formerly based in Raleigh, North Carolina, into Advance Auto, and undertake some other corporate streamlining.

The 100 cuts in Roanoke and Raleigh are a portion of a larger job cut, according to Stacy, who declined to provide the total employee reduction across the company or name other locations affected.
