LAND O LAKES, FL -- Long time WPTF Farm Director Johnnie Hood died Thursday night in Land O' Lakes, Florida.

Hood joined the WPTF staff in 1972 as morning show host. 

Named Farm Director in 1977, he was among the originators of the Southern Farm Network.

He was a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2013.

Arrangements for Hood are being handled by Loyless Funeral Home in Land O’Lakes, Florida.

The Princeton, NC native was 72 years old.
