Casey Mears In Victory Lane

The Hendrick Motorsports driver joins the domination of the Hendrick organization. An HMS driver has won nine of the last 10 Cup races. "It's no secret that Hendrick Motorsports is successful and we finally grabbed a piece of it."

How does the boss, Rick Hendrick, feel about the number 25 team? "I know the guy on this team know how to do it. I know that Casey can do it. This was special," said Hendrick.

A lot of the credit for Sunday's win goes to Crew Chief Darian Grubb's fuel calculation. Mears didn't pit in the final laps and ran out of gas as he cross the finish line. "From the standpoint of the quality of the people, the quality of the equipment, people like to be associated with it and I'm glad to be one of them," said Mears.

Ryan Newman

"It's very gratifying. These guys have been working so hard to get back to where we thought we could have been. It's nice to feel that once we're there," said Newman.

Newman had qualified for the pole just 25-hundredths of a second ahead of Penske teammate Kurt Busch. "No matter what the order, if Newman is on the pole or if we're on the pole, it just feels good that we're both on the front row," said Busch.

Elliot Sadler will lead row two in Sunday race. "We needed this. We needed a little momentum booster coming back to a track that we've been happy with in the past," said Sadler.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. qualified 4th for Sunday's 600 mile race. "You have to not work yourself mentally too hard at the start of the race. It's weird," said Earnhardt.
