Denny Hamlin (UPDATE) -- Last Year's standout rookie is making his mark in his Nextel Cup sophomore year. Denny Hamlin felt a win on Sunday was the only thing that would do him any good. "The bottom line is we weren't going to have anything going into the Chase if we didn't start getting wins," said Hamlin. He got his first win of the season on Sunday and the 10 bonus points that go along with it. This puts him within 156 point of leader Jeff Gordon. "We're still not going to just sit back and say a top three is good for us. We're going to continue to just throw out those Hail Maries and see how they land." The 26-year-old driver is in the Race To The Chase and he plans on leaving it all out on the track through Richmond, the final event before the Chase begins. "We've got some very, very good racetracks for us coming up and I feel like we're gonna hopefully close that gap to the 24 and 48." Hamlin is 566 points ahead of the Chase points cut-off.
