Carl Edwards wins at Dover (DOVER, DE) -- With a win Sunday at Dover International Speedway Carl Edwards did his trademark off-the-car backflip. The win allowed Edwards to take a big leap forward in the point standings to third. "The depth is such that I think that it's going to be an extremely tough Chase. You're going to have to win races to be leading the points at the end," said Edwards.Edwards avoided a massive wreck on the Monster Mile, making him about the only Chase contender still running with 14 laps to go. His car failed a post-race inspection, so he may lose some points. Greg Biffle finished second on Sunday. "Pretty good run for us. We haven't run like this all season," said Biffle. Dale Earnhardt Jr. landed a third place finish with what he claims was only an eighth place car at best. "Everybody was having a really hard time getting a consistency on each set of tires. You'd bolt on one set, the car would drive good, the next set, with no changes, you'd be wreckin', lose," said Earnhardt. Jeff Gordon seized the points lead while Jimmie Johnson fell from first to fourth.
