(UPDATE) -- Sunday's UAW Ford 500 at Talladega marks the first running of the new Car of Tomorrow at a restrictor plate track. It is also the longest and fastest track to feature the new car design. NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson has already won three COT races this season. "Typically I look at these opportunities and say this is good for us, we typically learn stuff faster and we should be able to take advantage of this," said Johnson.

The questions is, can the COT withstand the big, fast Talladega track? "Talladega, with how easy the cars drive and how smooth that surface is and the way the package seems to be working out right now, it's just going to be hairy."

Johnson hopes the number 48's COT expertise comes through on Sunday. "It's going to be great for the fans, but it's going to be one of the most frightening races because of the points situation just because what we all have to lose right now."
