(TALLADEGA, AL) -- Most drivers contending for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship agree that Talladega is the "wild card" track in the 10-rack Chase. Kurt Busch holds the 9th spots in the standings. "You have to have a clean car if you want to win the race here and you have to avoid the big one," said Busch.
With Drivers piloting the new Car of Tomorrow for the first time on a restrictor plate track, fifth ranked Kevin Harvick knows there will be some big wrecks. "With the new car and all of the unknowns I think missing the big wreck is probably the biggest key," said Harvick. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are the only Chase drivers who have won at Talladega. Gordon crew chief Steve Letarte sums up Talladega pretty well. "Finish, that's all you've got to do at Talladega. Good horsepower, good pit crew, don't leave any wheels loose and being in the right line at the right time, you're gonna run good here," said Letarte.
