Image(UPDATE) -- Drivers run under the lights at Lowes Motor Speedway on Saturday for the fifth event in the 10-race Chase For The NASCAR Nextel Cup. "This is what I call homecoming weekend for NASCAR's Nextel Cup teams," said NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications, Jim Hunter.

Five of the 12 drivers in the Chase have LMS wins. Jimmie Johnson leads all active drivers with five wins there. "It's tough staying good all night long. It's easy to hit it right in the beginning, but as the night goes on the track changes so much that it's really tough to stay on top of things and keeping your car turning, so if you can keep the car turning throughout the night, you're in good shape," said Johnson.

The 12 Chase contenders have won a total of 13 races at LMS. Qualifying for Sunday's Bank of America 500 is Thursday night. "Charlotte is one of those tracks where you never know what's going to happen," said Hunter.
