(CONCORD) -- "We came into this race not expecting to win and we pulled off a win," said Jeff Gordon. Saturday night's win at Lowes Motor Speedway was Gordon's first win in eight years at the Concord track. "There's still a lot of racing left to go but these last two weeks have been crucial. We're gettin' wins at the right place at the right time. Right now I just want to keep being consistent." The win also puts his out front in the points lead by 68 points.
Clint Bowyer finished second at the Bank of America 500. He believes Gordon will be the driver to beat for the championship. "They're going to have to stub their toe a little bit for us to catch 'em. You're not just going to go out and win races and lead the most laps and run them down because they're going to be finishing right behind you," said Bowyer. Kyle Busch had to settle for a disappointing third place finish Saturday night. "I don't know, easy day, third place, whatever, didn't make up much ground in the point," said Busch. Martinsville awaits as the Cup Series moves to race number six in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
