(UPDATE) -- A heated exchange between Roush-Fenway Racing drivers Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth after the race on Sunday at Martinsville has led to a revelation by Edwards. "It was not a one day deal. It wasn't just Sunday's on-track incident where I bumped into Matt and he bumped into me harder," said Edwards.

Edwards contends that his frustration has been building because of a lack of team work inside the Roush-Fenway camp. "I got Jimmie Johnson calling me every time I win to say, good job, and my teammates are not the ones doing that. I mean, I don't think Matt has voluntarily said two sentences to me in the last six months."

Edwards issued an apology to Kenseth, and the sponsors of the number 99 car, for his behavior on Sunday. "I was definitely wrong putting on an aggressive display toward Matt Kenseth."

Is it time, though, for a cum-ba-yah session inside Rouch-Fenway Racing? "We as a team have everything we need to go out and beat these guys. We just need to have a little bit more team spirit."
