(HAMPTON, GA) -- Early this month, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates announced Indycar Series champion Dario Franchitti signed a multi-year deal to run in NASCAR's top series starting next year. This week, the open wheel master got a chance to experience the difference during testing at Atlanta Motor Speedway. "In the car you really have no adjustment and you have to adjust your driving. It's another step on that completely new learning curve," said Franchitti.
Franchitti is watching other drivers on the track. "Following people I've actually have managed to see exactly what they're doing in the car." So, what has he noticed? "A lot of the quick guys really the car does move around quite a bit more than I'm use to, so that's the next project is to just get use to that and start searching out the lane that works when it's hot." The Scottish-born driver joins teammate Juan Pablo Montoya next season. Montoya is completing his first Cup Series season. Both are Indy 500 champions.
