(UPDATE) -- Two races and two drivers are likely to determine the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup champion. Jimmie Johnson takes a lot of momentum into this weekend's Checker Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. He's the points leader and sports three consecutive wins, but he says his Hendrick Teammate, Jeff Gordon, who now trails the points lead by 30, it going to give it his all for a fifth title. "He wants this more than I've ever seen," said Johnson.
Jeff Gordon believes there's more to the success of the number 24 and 48 teams than just strong Hendrick Motorsports resources. Perfect chemistry among the teams is the clincher. "These two teams are as tight and as close to having all those ingredients that I've ever seen since we've had the 24/48 cars under one roof," said Gordon. Gordon is looking for a season sweep at Phoenix on Sunday to help vault him back into the points lead.
