(RALEIGH) -- Ron Francis, Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Development for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that forward Patrick Dwyer has been reassigned to the team’s top minor-league affiliate, the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.
Dwyer was recalled to Carolina on Saturday, marking his first NHL recall, but did not skate in Sunday’s win against the Ottawa Senators. In 54 games with the River Rats this season, Dwyer, 24, has scored 11 goals, earned eight assists (19 points) and compiled a plus-six plus/minus rating. Dwyer (5’11”, 175 lbs.) turned professional following a four-year collegiate career at Western Michigan University, and has totaled 43 goals and 62 assists (105 points) in 206 AHL regular-season games with Chicago and Albany. The Atlanta Thrashers drafted the Spokane, WA, native in the fourth round, 116th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. |
