Denny Hamlin celebrates a Martinsville win. (MARTINSVILLE, VA) -- Denny Hamlin finally got a Sprint Cup Series win at Martinsville. Sunday's win was his first win in 25 races. "You don't come here that often and have opportunities to win races, and I felt like we've been very close here in the past. We run second and third, just haven't had the car to win at the end," said Hamlin.Jeff Gordon said he had the car to win in the beginning of Sunday's Goody's Cool Orange 500 but not at the end. "We were the best car the first half of the race, second half, I don't know, track changed or conditions changed. We just didn't have it," said Gordon. Considering how his car deteriorated through Sunday's race, Gordon was pleased with a second place Martinsville finish. Jeff Burton landed a third place finish followed by Jimmie Johnson in fourth. Johnson was running for a fourth consecutive Martinsville win. "I can't do four whatever, where ever. We get threes but we don't get fours. That cool it's just an amazing streak to have three (wins at Martinsville)." Tony Stewart rounded out the top-five finishers on Sunday. All four Hendrick Motorsports drivers finished in the top-10. In addition to Gordon and Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. ended up with a sixth place finish with Casey Mears right behind him in seventh place.
