(UPDATE) -- Kasey Kahne is establishing consistency in the first six races of this season's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Considering the best he did in 2007 was a top-five finish, heading to texas this weekend ranked seventh in the series standings is a stellar accomplishment. "So far this year, the team, we've been very consistent and we've done everything we can to get the best finish possible. As time goes, we're going to be ready to win races," said Kahne.
The number 9 team suffered massive negative effects last year with the introduction of the Car of Tomorrow. Having to split time between the old car and the new car just did not work out well. Kahne said this year, they are basically running the same COT car. "I just think the setups are a little bit better. We've just been able to put more time into this car because of working with it for a longer period and also just working on this one car." Kahne may not accomplish the six wins he racked up in the 2006 season, but he is poised to take some checkered flags this season.
