(FORT WORTH, TX) -- Carl Edwards led 123 of the 339 laps at Texas Motor Speedway, but did not think he had a dominant car in taking his third Sprint Cup Series victory on Sunday. "I had to fight with it all day. It was really difficult and it was just kind of a lesser of the evils, or how ever you put that. We kind of found something that worked and that's what we stuck with," said Edwards.
Edwards held off Jimmie Johnson on a two-lap overtime sprint to the finish line. Johnson said Edwards is the guy to beat on the big tracks this season. "Carl spent a lot of time developing the Car of Tomorrow for Roush Racing and I think that seat time is helpful," said Johnson. Coming in third on Sunday, Kyle Busch was strong early in the Samsung 500, but he said he battled his car all day long. "Just couldn't really ever get it right. Was it fun to drive, no. Was it hard to drive, yes. Did it survive the day, yes, so was it a good day, sure," said Busch. Ryan Newman followed in fourth place on Sunday followed by Denny Hamlin. Jeff Burton held on to the points lead with a sixth place finish.
