(UPDATE) -- Top ranked Jeff Burton takes his number 31 Chevrolet to Talladega this weekend knowing he could be just one race away from being bumped from the top spot in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. That is why he is not complacent about the position he is in. "Ya know, it's real clear to us that we're going to have to continue to improve as the year goes on, so I'm not worried about that in the least," said Burton.

Getting to the top is only half the battle. He said staying there is the most challenging task. "When you're running well, it's harder to make improvements. The right decisions, putting the effort in the right place, that's going to be the hardest part."

Burton believed experience will be on his side. "We've been around the block and I think that we'll all answer that call just fine." He has one win and six top-10's so far this season, but he is another top performer that has never won at Talladega. The Arron's 499 is Sunday afternoon.
