(RICHMOND) -- Clint Bowyer benefited from misfortune between Dale Earnhart Jr. and Kyle Busch to win his first Sprint Cup Series race of the season Saturday night at Richmond. Bowyer said the tables turned with three laps to go as Busch and Earnhardt got together. "I was like man, this could be good for me, ya know, and it was," said Bowyer.

Busch said he and Jr. were just racing hard. "I apologized to those guys that the whole incident happened. I didn't mean to do it on purpose," said Busch.

This left Jr. with a 72 race winless streak. "As mad as I am about that situation and as much that's going to be made of it next week, the real injustice is just that this team didn't get what they deserved. They work hard," said Earnhardt.

Busch ended up finishing second while Jr. was left with a 15th place finish. Bowyer joked about not understanding why he was getting special protection after the race. "I don't know why they were escorting me. I told them they better get over there and escort Kyle Busch out of here," said Bowyer.
