(RALEIGH)- The Governor's Highway Safety Program is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Click It or Ticket campaign, aimed at getting people to buckle up. State Highway Patrol spokesman Everett Clendenin says North Carolina is near a 88% compliance rate for the seat belt laws.
The Click It or Ticket program is in force this holiday weekend. Clendenin says they are concerned about the number of teens who don't wear seatbelts. He says troopers will be out in force this holiday weekend, watching for speeders and drunk drivers. He says they will also be checking to make sure motorists don't litter. |
