(UPDATE) -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. was one of the drivers who got caught up in a multi-car pile-up early in Sunday's race at Dover. He ended up with a 35th place finish but still held onto third place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings. He is still looking for a win. "We never give up, but not giving up ain't gonna assure you of anything. You gotta have a good attitude and you gotta have a never give up attitude always, all the way to the bitter end," said Earnhardt.
Earnhardt takes that attitude to Pocono this weekend where time has taken a toll on 2.5 mile track. "The track needs to get paved. It's real, real rough," added Earnhardt. One little section of Pocono Raceway has been paved. Jr. said this was an interesting discovery during testing there last week. "They paved this little strip in turn three in the third groove and we were all running around on it. That's gonna be slightly amusing, I think, to see in the race."
