Kahne Quietly Taking the Ups And Downs PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Horn

Kasey Kahne(UPDATE) -- Nobody thought much of Kasey Kahne's chances of winning a race this season.  Even up until four weeks ago the number 9 team was slipping away from the top-12.  Kahne then won three races, including the non-points All-Star Race. "Ya know, I know the highs in NASCAR and in racing, that was oh-six (2006). I know the lows, that was oh-seven (2007) and now we're back to highs," said Kahne.

Kahne did not have much to celebrate through the Dodge Challenger 500 at Darlington exactly a month ago. He was ranked 14th following that race. He then took two trips to Victory Lane at Lowes Motor Speedway and did it again this past Sunday at Pocono. Now, he is ranked 9th and riding another long awaited high. "Take advantage of it. Do all you can when you got 'em, because this sport, and it seems like in anything you do, but definitely in racing, it's so up and down."

His crew chief, Kenny Francis, said the recent success of the number 9 has not happened over just the last month. "We've had a really good season going. It's just, we stay kinda quiet and nobody talks about us a lot, which is fine with me. I don't mind it."
