Dale Jr. enjoys Victory Lane at Michigan.
(BROOKLYN, MI) -- Dale Earnhart Jr. was beside himself on Sunday after taking his first trip to Victory Lane in 76 races. Jr. won the Lifelock 400 at Michigan International Speedway by conserving fuel. He said the win was for the fans. "I hope they celebrate. I hope they really enjoy this. They waited so long, so scream and shout. This is as much for you as it is for me," said Earnhardt.

Kasey Kahne also played the fuel conservation game and took second. "This week we beat a lot of cars just because of strategy, and it paid off. Kenny made a great call, come in and get fuel and I just saved," said Kahne.

Matt Kenseth said he had the car to win, but he wasn't able to pass on a late stop for fuel. He said he is pleased with third but disappointed he could not make his first trip of the season to Victory Lane. "This is our best finish of the year, so I'm really excited about that and pumped up about what we've done in the points the last month and a half. We've been able to make a run at it. We've actually been a contender again," said Kenseth.

Brian Vickers took fourth on Sunday followed by Tony Stewart.
