Dale Jr. Felt Lucky The Whole Season PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Horn

Dale Earnhardt Jr.(UPDATE) -- Race after race following a win at Richmond in the spring of 2006, Dale Earnhardt Jr. just could not land another trip to Victory Lane. Last year he made the big decision to move to the power house Hendrick Motorsports camp. This season progressed and the number 88 performed strong, but after the first 14 races this season, he still did not have a win. Was Earnhardt getting frustrated before last Sunday's win at Michigan? He said no. "As much as I wanted the win, I couldn't get away from just feeling really fortunate and feeling really lucky," said Earnhardt.

He said he knew with the quality of his team, a win was just a matter of time. "I gotta a great team. Look at my cars. They are so awesome. Look how well they're built. Look at my guys. They're so dedicated and everybody believes."

Owner Rick Hendrick made it clear that he had no doubt about number 88 team's ability to win a race. "I've been real proud of the way this team has come together and the way they work with the other teams and the growth in the organization," said Hendrick.
