(UPDATE) -- It is a big weekend ahead at Chicagoland Speedway. The 1.5 mile track got a bit of a facelift during the off-season. The track is set to debut its new lights, so drivers are preparing to run Chicagoland for the first time under the lights. Fourth ranked Carl Edwards said this may mean a different kind of racing for Saturday night's Lifelock 400. "Usually that's real slick and it turns into a real handling deal and it's hard to get grip. I'm curious to see how it is under the light. It'll probably be a little faster," said Edwards.
Top ranked Kyle Busch said Chicagoland under the lights is a wildcard. "To set up all our cars during the daytime in the heat of the sun and everything and then go into the race at night, we're all really going to have to have a lot of adjustability built into our cars," said Busch. It is a significant weekend for 12th ranked Tony Stewart. He won his first race of the 2007 season at Chicagoland, so he hopes to kick off a good summer spurt this weekend. And, now that we know Stewart is departing Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of this season, we will have a lot more on his plans for the future on Friday. Stewart has a press conference Thursday afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway.
