(CONCORD) -- General Motors filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday and a North Carolina based company has a sizable interest in the outcome of GM's reorganization effort. Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group, said on Monday that he is confident GM will be in a much better competitive position after emerging from bankruptcy.
"The products General Motors offers are the highest quality and most fuel efficient in its history, and I have an unwavering faith in the company's leadership team and our government's commitment to support this reorganization," said Hendrick. "We at Hendrick Automotive Group and Hendrick Motorsports are certain that GM will emerge from this stronger and better equipped to compete than ever before." Hendrick Automotive Group operates 27 General Motors franchises. Hendrick said, customers "can expect the same high level of care and service that our dealerships have always provided, and that the full range of warranties and parts will be available. All of the NASCAR teams within The Hendrick Motorsports organization run Chevrolets. "I've never wanted to race anything else, and I have every confidence that we will continue to celebrate victories together for many more seasons to come," said Hendrick. |
