NC Chamber Gives Top Honors To Edward Jones |

(RALEIGH) -- The North Carolina Chamber has named financial investment firm Edward Jones number one on its 2009 "Best Companies to Work for in North Carolina” list. Edward Jones operates 448 branch offices across the state.
A company mentor and Edward Jones financial advisor in Raleigh said the firm’s unique position among financial service firms of operating as a partnership, not a publicly traded company, contributed to the number one ranking. "The people who work here have the opportunity to become owners of this company through that partnership," said Patty Carter. "You don’t find very many people, I can’t think of one person at Edward Jones, who is not thrilled to be here. I talk with friends who are putting up with jobs because they need them this minute, but people who work here love this company," added Carter. Other companies that ranked in the top-10 include RSM McGladrey, Targacept, Inc., Key Risk Management Services, LLC, Southeastern Regional Medical Center, RTI International, PPD, Inc., Allscripts - Misys Healthcare Solutions, Administaff, Inc., and Sheetz, Inc. The chamber teamed with the Best Companies Group of Harrisburg, Pa., to rank employers. The chamber said top-ranked firms demonstrated characteristics such as “flexibility” in balancing work and family. A survey of employers looked at company benefits and policies. Information was also gathered from employees in the form of an engagement and satisfaction survey. |
