Speedway Motorsports' 3rd Quarter Profit Up Slightly |

(CONCORD) -- Speedway Motorsports, Inc. reported third quarter net income of $7.9 million or $0.19 per diluted share. This compared to $7 million or $0.16 per diluted share in the third quarter of 2008.
“While SMI’s third quarter non-GAAP results were within our expectations, the protracted tough economic conditions continue to significantly impact our operating results,” said Marcus G. Smith, Chief Operating Officer and President of Speedway Motorsports. The Concord-based company's total revenues for the third quarter were $134.6 million. Speedway Motorsports owns and operates major motorsports venues across the country, including Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord. |
