(RALEIGH) -- Gov. Bev Perdue has appointed a Raleigh businesswoman to the North Carolina State Banking Commission. Perdue named Darleen M. Johns to a four-year term on the 22 member panel.

Johns is the former owner of Alphanumeric Systems Inc and she is on the boards of Rex Healthcare, North Carolina Technology Association, and Capital City Club. Johns received Ernst and Young’s Technology Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1996.
