Officials: Tree Season Looks Good PDF Print E-mail
Written by Skip Staples, WSJS

(COLFAX) -- North Carolina's Christmas tree industry looks very strong this year. Brian Long with the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services says the crop looks great and may actually be one of the best ever.

Long says the North Carolina Christmas tree industry is big business, bringing in $100-million in revenue last year.  He says the state's tree industry faces ongoing competition with the state of Oregon and we currently come in second in the nation in Christmas tree sales. Long says many of the Christmas trees grown in the state are shipped to many other parts of the country.   He adds North Carolina trees offer a great deal of variety in shapes, sizes, and cost and there is a tree just right for everyone.
