Earnhardt Jr., Tight Lipped PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Horn

(CONCORD, NC) -- Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s contract negotiations continue with Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, but he is not saying much about the progress. "We're basically where we've been over the last couple of weeks. Not much has changed," said Earnhardt.

Both sides in the negotiations, which include Theresa Earnhardt for DEI and Kelly Earnhardt-Elledge for Dale Jr. made an agreement not to talk publicly about the process until they are ready to release final details. "I'm not out there fueling the fire for it. I'm trying to put it out until we're ready to tell everybody what the deal is."

Dale Earnhardt's sister is leading the negotiations for him. "I don't have any worry what so ever of my sister being able to get the job done or not being able to get the job done. I feel total confidence in her. I'm lucky to have her caliber of person like her in my camp."

Earnhardt-Elledge has set a deadline of the end of May to resolve the contract issue.
