(RALEIGH) -- New data released by the Census Bureau shows that Raleigh-Durham is among the least segregated metropolitan areas in the country. The American Community Survey considers a rating of less than 50 to be in the moderate range.
In measuring black-white segregation, Raleigh-Durham posted a rating of 43-point-5. Only Las Vegas and Charleston, South Carolina posted lower rates. City of Raleigh spokesperson Jane Kirkpatrick said the survey shows that people across the Triangle have more of a choice of where they live, and that people are growing more comfortable with each other.
State commerce officials estimate that the company will have an economic impact of nearly $1.5 billion during the 17-year term of the incentives package.
