(RALEIGH) -- Gov. Beverly Perdue said she is continuing to monitor the cleanup and recovery from the deadly tornado outbreak.  She continues to meet with various state and federal officials who are providing help.

"We have recovery folks in every community right now.  We have folks knocking on doors across North Carolina," said Perdue.

She urged home and business owners who have insurance to not automatically disqualify themselves from assistance. Perdue said everyone in the storm damaged areas should talk to someone from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
