(ELON) -- How do North Carolinians feel about President Obama? It depends on the question asked by the Elon Poll. More people view his job performance unfavorably, 47 to 43 percent. However, people like him personally, 47 to 42 percent.

Poll assistant director Mileah Kromer says the latter may be the result of his recent visits. "This is really not uncommon, considering he was just in the state. So oftentimes, when presidents visit a state, he'll get an immediate bump in public approval, when people feel like their concerns are being heard," she said.

His visit also sparked the question on how people viewed his recent bus trip to the state. Forty-three percent viewed it as favorable, while 33 percent viewed it as unfavorable.
