(RALEIGH) -- The latest unemployment report for North Carolina points to the same old news: the economic recovery is still slowly coming along. That is according to N.C. State University economist Mike Walden. He also said the news that the Gross Domestic Product was up just two points is yet another sign of the sluggish recovery.

"So you take both of these reports together and it suggests the economy is growing, but it is still growing at a very, very sluggish pace.  Two percent GDP growth is not going to make any headway it terms of jobs and then again, of course, here in North Carolina we added jobs, but we still have that lofty 10.4 percent unemployment rate," said Walden.
