(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- Secretary of Defense Leon Penetta recently outlined major cuts in U-S defense spending. North Carolina Congressman Walter Jones is concerned, but thinks the cuts can be made.

"You've got to find $500 billion over the next 10 years.  I think based on my conversations with some of the military leaders and service chiefs, they think that is something that they can work through and find the cuts without major impacts," said Jones.

He believes there is a lot of waste at the Pentagon. "I've known this for years and it is very, very frustrating because every agency that receives taxpayer's money should be audited and be able to give a report to the people, but on this one, they have acknowledged that it is so large and so vast,"  added Jones.
