(CHARLOTTE) -- President Barack Obama is paying another visit to North Carolina.  This time he is using the backdrop of a truck manufacturing plant near Charlotte to talk about jobs, energy and the economy.

The President is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Freightliner plant in Mount Holly on Wednesday afternoon.  What is happening the the Freightliner plant is something Obama wants to highlight. The plant is expanding production to meet increased demand for heavy trucks and the company has announced that it will meet new fuel efficiency standards a year ahead of schedule.

North Carolina is viewed as a battleground state in this year's presidential election.  Recent activity would certainly confirm that. First Lady Michelle Obama made appearances in the Tar Heel State last week and Vice President Joe Biden was in North Carolina the week before that.
