(CHARLOTTE) -- Average retail gasoline prices continue to rise with regular ringing in at $3.81 a gallon on Wednesday morning.  Tom Crosby, spokesman for the AAA Carolina, said the slow creep at the pump will likely continue for a while.

"We're not having big jumps.  We're up almost 4 cents from a week ago and we're up about 14 cents from an month ago, but it's creeping up a little bit each day and we suspect that that's going to continue right through the month of April, at least," said Crosby.

He added that when regular gas reaches $4.00 a gallon, motorists will begin to change their behavior.  This eludes to the fact that demand for gas could decrease drastically.
