US Congressional Results; Voters Make Their Choices

(RALEIGH) -- Democratic President Barack Obama lost North Carolina, but won the Presidential race against Republican Mitt Romney. But, the president's party will have fewer members in the Tar Heel legislative delegation. 

The United States House of Representative District 1 seat went to Democrat G.K. Butterfield with 75% of the votes over Republican Pete

Incumbent US House of Representatives 2nd District Congresswoman Renee Ellmers has won with 81 percent of the vote over Democrats Steve Wilkins with 40% and Libertarian Brian Irving with 3%

US House of Representatives District 3 was won by Republican Walter B Jones with 63 percent of the vote over Democrat Erik Anderson who held 37 %.

US House District. 4 Incumbent David Price comes back for another term after winning his seat with 74% over Republican Tim D'Annunzio with 26% of the vote.

The United States House of Representative District 8 seat was won by Republican Richard Hudson with 53% of the votes over Democrat Larry Kissel who had 45%

The US House of Representative District 9 seat went to Republican Robert Pittenger with 52% of the votes while Democrat Jennifer Roberts won 46% and Libertarian Curtis Campbell gained 3% of the votes.

Republican Patrick McHenry won the US House District 10 seat with 57% of the votes over Democrat Patsy Keever who finished with 43% of the votes.

Republican Mark Meadow beat out Democrat Hayden Rogers for the US House District 11 seat with 57% of the votes.

The US House of Representative District 12 seat went to Democrat Mel Watt who gained 80% of the votes over Republican Jack Brosch.

 Republican George Holding won the US House of Representative District 13 seat over Democrat Charles Malone 57% to 43%.

Republican Virginia Foxx wins the US House District 5 with 58% against Elisabeth Motsinger who had 42%

Incumbent Howard Coble retained his seat as the US House District 6 representative with 61% of voters against challenger Tony Foriest who had 39% of the vote.

The 7th Congressional District -one of the most closely watched races is still undecided. Democrat Mike McIntyre, has 53% to Republican David Rouzer's 47%, in a newly redrawn district. With 82% of precincts reporting
