Students at UNC Chapel Hill had the opportunity to give their input for what they want to see in their next chancellor on Thursday evening.

UNC graduate student Jo Ellen McBride tells ABC 11 that's one of the reasons she enjoys attending UNC.

"I like that it is very open. I like that we can actually meet with them and talk with them."

A new chancellor won't take office for months. Outgoing Chancellor Holden Thorp won't step down until June 30.
