(RALEIGH) – The NC State Board of Trustees has an emergency meeting set for Wednesday to discuss an “employment agreement,” but more details about what they will be talking about is not known. This comes only days after N.C. State Head football coach Tom O’Brien was fired after finishing his sixth season 7-5 with a bowl bid.
The board plans to meet by conference call Wednesday afternoon. Because it involved personnel matters, it is scheduled to be in closed session.
The guessing game is already underway about who will replace O’Brien, who was shown the door after Saturday’s victory over Boston College, where O’Brien coached before coming to Raleigh. Observers say time is of the essence since there are a number of coaching vacancies in college football currently, including three in the SEC.
