RALEIGH - Nature lovers in Wake County will soon have a whole new area of land to explore. The Triangle Land Conservancy announced this week its purchase of 409 acres in eastern Wake County, and the non-profit group plans to keep the land largely unchanged.

Chad Jemison from the Triangle Land Conservancy tells us the organization also hopes to continue the land's use as farm land.

"...On the front part of the property, there is wonderful farming land that we would like to see remain active. They may be leased, at least for the first, initial year, to a local farmer."

Jemison adds that the they also plan to create trials in parts of the area so that the public can enjoy the land's beauty, which was the previous owners' dream.
