CARY -- MetLife's plans to bring 2,600 jobs to North Carolina in less than two years moved another step closer Friday with the groundbreaking of a Technologygy Hub in Cary.

On North Carolina's morning news with Brian Freeman, Governor Pat McCrory said he knows it not always easy to stay ahead of the job picture, noting that 500 jobs are being lost at Xerox facility in the Triangle.

"Everyday we're in a battle because are spending as much time recruiting our existing companies to retain what they have and then even grow as we do recruiting new companies to come to North Carolina. Plus there are market changes too, that are out of our control."

Jobs will also be created in Charlotte. The state offered MetLife a total of $94 million in tax incentives to clinch the deal. MetLife's new site in Cary will be located off Weston Parkway.
