The son of the Georgia owner of a thrill ride that seriously injured three people at the North Carolina State Fair made a brief court appearance.

Joshua Gene Macaroni's lawyer Dan Boyce says there are still many questions.

"He's been given no factual basis for the charges against him. We assume therefore that there is an on-going investigation."

Prosecutor Colon Willoughby says they are confident in their case,

"I think Mr. Boyce probably knows why his client was charged. I can't talk about it outside of court."

Macaroni is the son of the couple who own the ride that went haywire two weeks ago.Like the ride operator, 42-year-old Tim Tutterrow, Macaroni is facing three felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
