RALEIGH -- Another name has entered the GOP Primary for the race to challenge for Democrat Kay Hagan's U.S. Senate Seat. This may be the most recognizable name so far, state House Speaker Thom Tillis. According to Tillis' website, he believes that "North Carolina deserves a Senator that represents our conservative North Carolina values, not Barack Obama and Washington special interests."

He said he is confident his campaign can carry him to Washington. Tillis said, "I believe that our campaign has got the momentum that's going to position us well to win the primary outright, and it's going to position us well to be the 51st seat to make a majority in the U.S. senate."

He's now one of seven in the Republican primary race. The filing deadline is Friday.
