RALEIGH -- The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency may be the most helpful organization that you've never head of. Many of the long-term unemployed and military servicemen assimilating back to civilian life are struggling to make mortgage payments.
Tthat's where the agency steps in, according to Executive Director, Bob Kucab.
"The foreclosure prevention fund can actually make mortgage payments for up to 36 months while the homeowner looks for work or completes retraining, up to a total of $36,000."
According to Kucab, the agency has financed more than 220,000 homes and apartments. More information available at ncforeclosureprevention.gov.
