RALEIGH -- North Carolina Veterans Affairs is jumping the gun to help veterans in the wake of allegations that VA administrators were covering up wait times for veterans awaiting health care. State VA Director Ilario Pantano says they have opened a Veterans Tip Hotline to provide whistleblowers with an outlet to voice concerns.

Pantano said, "We want them to be able to call us. And we want them to be able to feel like they report this anonymously. And what we're going to do in turn is, once we aggregate these reports, we're going to present this information to VA management, senior level management."

The tip line phone number is (844)-NC4-Vets and is operational during business hours right now. You can also e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
